The proposed variation appeared in early eighties and gained some popularity due to the efforts of the GMs Dzindzichashvili and Igor Ivanov. If to evaluate this variation formally it seems to be somehow risky for Black while further analysis shows that the position of Black is stable and favourable. The struggle proceedes on both flanks. Actions on the Queen's flank are only supportive ones.
